The facility offers an abundance of amenities for kids of all ages. From the indoor 1,000 square foot playground designed to exercise and stimulate the body and the brain to the 4,800 square foot outdoor playground designed specifically for 5-12 year olds. The playground includes the "S Wall Climber" that provides a unique kid friendly climbing experience, the Dueling Wave Zip Slide, and a straight tube slide. We also have a computer lab equipped with; Microsoft Office, high-speed Internet access, and training tools to assist our students in learning computer skills.
In the game room kids can play Foosball, Ping Pong, and Air Hockey and for our young gamers we have Wii and Xbox Kinect systems.

The security of children and staff is a high priority at The Back Pack. Our facility is equipped with computerized check in / check out systems and the building has been designed and constructed with top quality surveillance monitoring and security devises.
Check In & Check Out
For administrative and security purposes, all children / families will be registered in our computerized data system. Parents will be given a personalized pin for quick and easy check in and check out. Only persons registered in the database will be permitted to check children in and out of our program.
Family Data Profiles
Maintaining accurate family profiles is necessary for security and to enable immediate contact with parents when necessary. Please be accurate with family information when submitting applications and update your personal profile whenever family data changes.

Camp Whatakid, Summer at the Silo Center: This is our summer day camp running Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 6:15 pm. For the 2019 summer season, we will be open from June 17th through August 9th. The Back Pack is located at New Hope Church's Silo Center at 8905 Ox Road in Lorton, VA, just 2.5 miles north of Occoquan on Rt. 123. We're right next to the Shoppes of Lorton Valley.
Health & Safety
A child's health and safety is a big priority at The Back Pack. Our staff is well trained in safety practices and our lead staff is certified and trained in CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, and EpiPen procedures. Lead staff members are equipped with a two way radios to allow them instant contact with each other at all times. The Back Pack is licensed and approved by the state of VA as a religious exempt child care program meaning all Fire and Health Inspections, student/staff ratios, staff health and background screenings meet and exceed all code requirements.
