THE BACK PACK
What do kids carry with them most of the year? A backpack! We have a special meaning for a backpack here at the Silo Center. We like to say BACK stands for Before and After Care Kids, and we have a pack of them in our care each day.
The Back Pack is a place your child(ren) will want to be this school year! This is a place for kindergarteners through sixth graders to make new friends, be curious and creative, learn valuable skills, and experience an unforgettable school year filled with fun and excitement.

At The Back Pack, we are eager to provide outstanding service and a quality environment for your child(ren)'s school year. We are committed to providing a safe, enjoyable, and exciting experience for all students in our care. We strive to meet each student's individual needs and provide an atmosphere for social growth and development while maintaining excellence, value, and purpose within our programs, and facility.
The overall mission and vision of The Back Pack is to invest in the hearts and minds of young children through fun and rewarding activities to help them grow and mature so they may be better prepared for full and rewarding lives.
OUR STAFF
The staff at The Back Pack is a unique team of individuals that are serious about investing in the lives of children and being a positive role model. Our team consist of education and nursing majors, track runners, football and softball players, aspiring actors and musicians, mothers, children of military members, those studying trades such as welding and auto mechanics, and more. Our special team of staff mirrors our unique community of students and provides all of us with a safe connection to one another.
A majority of our staff members are employed year-round with our summer camp program, Camp Whatakid.
HOURS
& Areas of Service
Our doors open for Before Care at 6:30 am. The After Care program closes at 6:15 pm. We provide transportation to and from your child's school. You may register for Before Care, After Care, or both Before Care and After Care.
We currently provide care to students, Kindergarten - 6th grade, attending the following elementary schools:

*Schools serviced is subject to change at the discretion of Silo Center Administration if enrollment minimums are not met.
LOCATION
The Back Pack is located at New Hope Church's Silo Center at 8905 Ox Road in Lorton, Virginia, just 2.5 miles north of Occoquan on Route 123. We're right next to the Shoppes of Lorton Valley.
