WHO WE ARE
What do kids carry with them most of the year? A backpack! We have a special meaning for a backpack here at the Silo Center. We like to say BACK stands for Before and After Care Kids, and we have a pack of them in our care each day.
The Back Pack is a place your child(ren) will want to be this school year! This is a place for kindergarteners through sixth graders to make new friends, be curious and creative, learn valuable skills, and experience an unforgettable school year filled with fun and excitement.

At The Back Pack, we are eager to provide outstanding service and a quality environment for your child(ren)'s school year. We are committed to providing a safe, enjoyable, and exciting experience for all students in our care. We strive to meet each student's individual needs and provide an atmosphere for social growth and development while maintaining excellence, value, and purpose within our programs, and facility.
MISSION
The overall mission of The Back Pack is to invest in the hearts and minds of young children through fun and rewarding activities to help them grow and mature so they may be better prepared for full and rewarding lives.
FACILITY
Students can play air hockey, foosball, ping pong, XBOX, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, giant connect four, Knok Hockey, and more in the Game Room.
We have four outdoor play areas and an indoor playground that features our famous purple slide that takes you from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor.
GaGa ball and 9 Square in the Air are our favorite Atrium games to play!
Each group has their own classroom with age appropriate toys, games, and art materials.

SAFETY & SECURITY
The Silo Center was assessed by the Fairfax County Police Department in Spring of 2024. We are proud to share that we received their top rating for safety and security.
The security of children and staff is a high priority at The Back Pack.
Our facility is equipped with computerized check-in / check-out systems, and the building has been designed and constructed with top quality surveillance monitoring and security devices. All building doors remain locked. Each individual that enters the building must be let inside and checked in at the front desk.
Maintaining accurate family profiles is necessary for security and to enable immediate contact with parents when necessary. Please be accurate with family information when submitting applications and update your personal profile whenever family data changes.
OUR STAFF
The staff at The Back Pack is a unique team of individuals that are serious about investing in the lives of children and being positive role models. Our team consists of education and nursing majors, track runners, football players and softball players, aspiring actors and musicians, mothers, those studying trades such as welding and auto mechanics, and more.
Our special team of staff mirrors our unique community of students and provides all of us with a safe connection to one another.
